Filming 1

We filmed Martyna in Valerie's Bedroom, Valerie had a double bed, make up table, tv and fancy wallpaper which made the perfect room for Martyna's character. This was a very successful day, we didn't need to refilm any of these shots and the lighting and continuity throughout of Martyna's character is great.

13) The Pitch- Risk Assessment

THINGS THAT COULD
POSSIBLY GO WRONG....

  • Transport- As we all live in different locations, we need to use public transport to get together. If there is a problem with the tube or buses then the filming needs to be rescheduled.
  • Lost/Stolen- To prevent from losing the equipment, two people would be responsible for each item to help ensure the safety of both the camera and student.
  • Absence- There are some days where some students could be ill, so in this scenario the production schedule would have to be adapted.
  • Lost of Footage- If the footage is not saved properly, then the work could be lost and everything would need to be re-filmed. Saving every time something is changed is important as it will prevent lost of footage.

8) Mise-en-scene

Props:

The setting and location is what is needed to decide what props to use. For example;
For the bedroom - props like an alarm clock, clothes, beds, posters.
For the nerds we will have things like messy clothes on the floor, alarm clocks, wall full of pictures and posters of celebrities, glasses and cases, any medication prescription.
For the popular people we will have things like jewellery placed on dressers, clothes perfectly hanged, a collection of shoes to show their wealth. Anything that will help to set the scene.

Costumes:
The costumes we have in mind- for the nerds we have things like baggy shirts with old fashioned shoes and simple trousers, scruffy looking hair, glasses and a slight touch of make-up.
For the popular kids we have things like clothes that are known to be more fashionable, big jewellery that will attract the audience and it will show them that they have money.
Even though there are only two bedrooms which we will record in. We will change things like the location or the bed, the bedding and furniture around it.

The Pitch - Social Class

Which characters will you introduce in your title sequence?
-representatives from each of  the stereotypical teenager groups.
1. “not so nice lady” – (bitch)
2. “Not so nice guy” – popular, but rude and self-centred male character, generally rich and part of the upper class, not under privileged   LEAD
3. Nerdy and unpopular, social group confined to one person generally,
4.  Friend to the nerdy and unpopular type, supportive and left out

The difference in the social groups is going to be evident, by costume, airtime, and the amount of people that they are going to be around, typically the most popular will be surrounded by more people and will be wearing clothes that are fashionable, shots to be taken in open and social places such as the canteen and play ground.
To represent social status of those students that are considered to be unpopular, the initial idea is for the costume to fully black and shots to be set in typical study areas such as the library.

As a group we decided to conform to the stereotypes because the length of the final product meant it was easier to present social differences as they stand.

7) The Pitch - Locations and Settings

  1. The first location:

For our location we will be filming at one of our old secondary schools called Park View
We have asked for permission and they have accepted with the condition that they get a clear plan of what is to be filmed, i.e the locations we may need within the school, if any other students that attend the school are in the production.

    The second location:
The second location will be in one of the two bedrooms. This bedroom will be made to look like the room of a nerd, it will include posters, clothes everywhere and school work (papers/books).  this is where two characters from the production will be filmed for their morning schedule.

    The third location:
The third location will be in another bedroom. This bedroom will be made to look more clean. It will be very organised, everything in place as expected to be, such as alarm clocks, clothes, school books and so on.

12) The Pitch- The Production Schedule

This is our timetable for the production of our title sequence. As shown, there are not many editing opportunities therefore we would need to attend workshops to complete the work.
